Niloufar Shirani, Ph.D.

Post Doctoral Research Associate

Dr. Shirani has recently joined the Connecticut Transportation Safety Research Center (CTSRC) at the Connecticut Transportation Institute (CTI) as a postdoctoral research associate. She pursued her Master and Ph.D. degree in Civil (transportation) Engineering, at the University of Alabama in Huntsville (UAH). Her dissertation focused on analyzing and modeling non-motorized related crashes by using different techniques in the state of Alabama. Dr. Shirani has experience in contributing to several traffic safety projects funded by state department of transportation. Her research interests include highway traffic safety, crash analysis, application of statistical models in transportation engineering, and transportation data visualization.
