Road Scholar Program

What is the Road Scholar Program?

The Road Scholar Program includes a series of advanced training workshops designed for individuals currently in, or interested in pursuing, supervisory positions.

Program Certificate and Requirements:

Only those who have successfully completed the Connecticut Road Master Program are eligible to participate in the Road Scholar Program. A certificate will be awarded to participants upon completion of the program requirements (4 required workshops and 2 electives).


Program Offerings:

Four Required Workshops:

  • Supervisory Skills
  • Asset Management
  • Safety/Risk Management
  • Communication Skills II

Two Elective Workshops:

Some elective topics you may expect to see are:

  • Advanced Work Zone Traffic Control Oversight
  • Roundtable Discussions on Technical Issues
  • Project Management
  • Report Writing
  • Successful Budgeting

*Classes are $100 per participant for state and municipal employees, unless otherwise noted.
