A CT Traffic Signal Technician Certificate Program Level III REQUIRED Workshop

Course Description:

This course will provide an exploration of network communication options and programming in the traffic signal and Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) environment. Participants will gain hands-on experience troubleshooting networking hardware and software, configuring network devices, and applying advanced signal operations techniques. Key topics will include logic processing, peer-to-peer communication, and hands-on networking exercises with fiber, cellular, and Ethernet setups.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this class, participants will be able to:

• Understand various network communication options and their applications in traffic signal and ITS environments.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot networking hardware and software issues related to traffic signal systems.
• Apply advanced signal operations and programming techniques, including logic processing and peer-to-peer communication.
• Configure and manage network switches, including fiber, cellular, and Ethernet setups, through hands-on exercises.
