A CT ROAD MASTER PROGRAM ELECTIVE WORKSHOP
Course Description:
This course provides a refresher on basic math skills related to construction inspection and road maintenance and uses a “Where’s Waldo” approach to teach participants how to find needed information within a set of plans. Group and individual exercises will be used to practice the concepts discussed.
Learning Objectives:
Upon completion of this class, participants will be able to:
- Use basic math formulas to estimate area, volume, and quantities
- Identify different sources of information on a set of construction plans
- Discuss the different information needed to properly estimate quantities for a project
Who Should Attend:
This course is designed for anyone who is new to plan reading and estimating quantities related to a construction project or wants a refresher on these topics.
Road Foremen, Inspectors, and Crew Leaders are encouraged to attend.
Instructor:
Paul Brown, is the President of RoadTech, Inc., a consulting company specializing in road management and pavement maintenance issues. Paul has been teaching road building and maintenance classes for LTAP centers around the country for several years and has been in the construction industry since 1979.
