A CT Traffic Signal Technician Certificate Program Level III Required Workshop
Course Description:
This course is designed to provide an understanding of advanced traffic signal programming. Participants will program a traffic signal controller using plans from an intersection in CT. The course will also review the necessary steps to interfacing a cabinet in the field. Topics will include advanced signal control features, such as Flashing Yellow Arrows, Preemption, Boolean Logic Programming, Detection Enhancements, Interfacing with an ATMS System, and Controller Software Automated Upgrades. An overview of Adaptive Signal Control will also be discussed.
Learning Objectives:
At the end of this session, participants will:
- Demonstrate advanced signal control features, including Flashing Yellow Arrows (FYA), Red Extensions, Bike Extensions, and Pedestrian-related features.
- Apply Logic Programming to create customized signal operations.
- Understand and implement Preemption for emergency vehicles, transit, and other priority traffic.
- Gain an understanding of Adaptive Signal Control and its application in traffic management.
