A CT Traffic Signal Technician Certificate Program Level III Required Workshop

Course Description:

The focus of this workshop will be on developing coordination plans and implementing them utilizing internal controller programming. Traffic signal coordination refers to the process in which two or more intersections are synchronized, so vehicles can pass through each intersection without stopping. Participants will gain an understanding of each controller within the system operating with a cycle length, offset, and split. 

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, participants will know how to:

  • Establish effective cycle lengths for an intersection.
  • Determine optimal splits.
  • Develop offsets, including inbound, off-peak, and outbound.
  • Calculate permissives and force offs.
