A CT Traffic Signal Technician Certificate Program Level II Required Workshop

Course Description:

This workshop is designed to provide an overview of basic programming and traffic signal detection systems. Participants will discuss the various types of traffic signal detection with an emphasis on installing and operating video camera detection systems, including 360-degree camera systems. 

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the purpose of detection systems.
  • Understand the advantages and disadvantages of various types of detection.
  • Troubleshoot loop detectors and install and troubleshoot video detection systems.
  • Learn the value of detection in different areas of an intersection.
