A CT Safety Academy Program Training

Course Description:

This workshop is geared to municipal staff responsible for the placement, maintenance, and management of traffic signs and inventory. The course will include examples of proper sign installation practices, roadway safety materials, and inspection methods of retro-reflectivity properties. The class includes a field exercise that will allow you to put into practice what is learned during the classroom portion of the workshop.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this class, participants will:

  • Federal and State requirements for signs.
  • The importance of a sign inventory and maintenance program.
  • Types of signs and sign materials that are available. 
  • Strategies for proper sign placement and installation techniques.

Who Should Attend:

  • Public Works Directors and Supervisors
  • Public Works Foreman
  • Maintenance staff

*Participants will receive 3.5 credit hours toward their CT Safety Champion Designation.
