APWA - New England Chapter Connects: Entry Level Driver Training & Your Organization

Event Date: 3/23/2023

Event Overview

Entry Level Driver Training & Your Organization

A New England Chapter Connects Series — Presented by the NEAPWA's Public Works Awareness and Education Committees

When: Thursday, March 23, 2023, 11:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. via Zoom Hosted by T2 Center at UCONN

On February 7, 2022, the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) instituted a new regulation, the Entry Level Driver Training (ELDT): a year later, there is much confusion regarding the requirements of the rule. Do you need to send applicants to a training school? Who needs ELDT and when? What are the training requirements of the rule?

Do you have questions regarding the ELDT rule? This session will focus on those requirements; and what you can do within your organization to get your drivers through the CDL licensing process.

Please join this virtual roundtable discussion; we will cover these questions and more. This session is geared towards people obtaining/upgrading a CDL license and for folks managing/training team members with CDL licenses.

Speakers:
Mitch Soriano, Campus Director
New England Tractor Trailer Training School

Edward Brickner, State Program Specialist
Connecticut Division, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA)

Nate Mears, Director of Public Works
Stratham, NH
