Course Description:

Paving is a key operation in every Public Works Department. Whether you are doing your own paving or contracting it out, it is imperative that the job gets done right. This class focuses on best practices in pavement maintenance operations and inspection techniques. Instructors will provide details on getting the most out of every project, and participants will walk away with tips for ensuring that you get the best possible product.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand why proper inspection is important.

  • Discuss general pavement inspection practices for each stage of the process.

  • Describe the state of the practice for common pavement repairs.

Who Should Attend:

This class is designed for those public works staff that have responsibility for inspecting and approving pavement project work. Construction Inspectors, Highway Foremen, Superintendents and Directors of Public Works are encouraged to attend.
