A CT Traffic Signal Technician Certificate Program Level I REQUIRED Workshop

Course Description:

This course is designed to provide an understanding of how various components, inside and outside the controller cabinet, work together at a signalized intersection. This course is specific to individuals maintaining and installing traffic signal equipment and will include basic electrical theory, as well as electrical safety in the field.

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the various components and devices inside and outside the cabinet.
  • Understand how components and devices within the controller cabinet work together at a signalized intersection.
  • Understand basic electricity and how it applies to traffic signal equipment.
  • Understand the hazards of working with electricity.
