A Connecticut Safety Academy Workshop

Course Description:

This three hour virtual course will review basic design principals for modern roundabouts, their operation and safety benefits, and their effect on economic development. Additionally, you will hear about the importance of public involvement and communication, to include emergency responders, and the maintenance of roundabouts once constructed. Examples will include roundabouts completed on state roadways as well as municipal examples. The course will also review lessons learned at both the state and local level.

This training is meant to focus more on practical issues, rather than design specifications and engineering, when considering roundabouts in your community. This course is meant to improve your understanding of modern roundabouts, learn how to overcome concerns related to roundabouts, and foster better communication regarding one of the best intersection design tools currently available.
