Roundtable: Weather Information Systems

A CT Road Scholar Program Elective Workshop

Course Description:

Temperature and weather conditions can vary greatly across Connecticut and having access to an accurate forecast and current road temperatures can make or break your success in storm response. In recent years, several services and tools have been developed to help with forecasting and it can be difficult to decide what information is most helpful and which services are the best. In this Roundtable Discussion, we will discuss what information is key in proper planning along with some of the latest tools and services available to help in this effort. We will also learn more about how the state and towns are finding success in fighting Mother Nature. Participants should be prepared to share their own experiences with different services and tools

Who Should Attend:

This program is designed for highway maintenance officials responsible for managing storm response efforts. Directors of Public Works, Highway Superintendents and Foremen are encouraged to attend.
