A CT Transportation Leadership Program ELECTIVE Workshop

Course Description: 

Being a leader is more than delegating tasks and making sure people do their jobs. First and foremost, you are responsible for the people in your care. When you focus your efforts on  helping your team succeed, you will evolve into a successful leader.

This class will help you to understand your role as a leader and how to change a group of individuals into a collaborative team.  We will present concepts on team dynamics that lead to trust and collaboration, laying a foundation for the whole team’s commitment to achieving results. You will be introduced to how to run small group meetings, practicing your leadership skills, and building trust in the process.  You will learn from each other as well as from the facilitator, sharing best practices and lessons learned.

Learning Objectives:

Participants will be introduced to the following concepts:

  • What it means to be a collaborative leader.
  • How to build trust within your team.
  • How to handle sticky situations when people focus on blame.
  • How to run meetings to build a collaborative team.
