Sign Installation and Maintenance - On Demand

Course Description:

Roadway signs are the means by which a local agency communicates the rules, warnings, guidance and other safety information that drivers need to navigate their roads and streets. This workshop will include examples of proper sign installation practices and roadway safety materials, breakaway sign posts, inspection methods of retro-reflectivity properties, and information on maintaining a sign inventory. This class might include a field example.

 

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this class, participants will know:

  • The types of sign and installation materials that are available.
  • Location strategies for sign placement.
  • How to effectively use resources.

 

Who Should Attend:

This program is designed for any local personnel who are responsible for the placement and maintenance of traffic signs.

Participants will receive 2 credit hours toward their Connecticut Safety Champion designation.
