Course Description:

In this course, we will focus on applying, practicing and developing fundamental project management skills. Through lecture and group discussion, participants are introduced to fundamental  project management tools, techniques and concepts. Participants will then have the opportunity to practice and develop these skills by going through the steps of planning and managing a realistic public works project using a group exercise.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this class, participants will be able to: 

• Understand the steps required for successful development of a project's scope; 
• Develop a project plan; 
• Apply project management principles and technique; 
• Identify common project pitfalls and ways to avoid them.
