Course Description:

This course introduces environmental management for Connecticut public works facilities. It discusses the permits, plans, inspections and training for aboveground storage tanks (ASTs), underground storage tanks (USTs), the Industrial Stormwater General Permit, the MS4 Stormwater General Permit, EPCRA, hazardous waste, transfer station compliance and air permits for boilers and emergency engines.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this class, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss different requirements for ASTs versus USTs.
  • Determine if you need to comply with air regulations.
  • Conduct a Transfer Station self-audit.?
  • Understand what is required during year two of the MS4 Permit. 

Who Should Attend:

This program is designed for those municipal public works and engineering staff responsible for environmental compliance in their agencies.Directors of Public Works, Town Engineers, Highway Superintendents and Foremen are encouraged to attend.
