Large Mower Operation and Safety

A CT ROAD MASTER PROGRAM ELECTIVE WORKSHOP

Course Description: 

This program provides training on the best safety practices for industrial mower operator safety and will include both classroom instruction and a field exercise. We will stress the importance of maintaining equipment and having proper shields installed. Attendees will learn what to wear when operating mowers, the proper way to mount and dismount, and proper techniques for mowing on various terrains.

 Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of this class, participants will be able to:

  • ?Describe the typical safety features found on roadside mowers.
  • ?Discuss the importance of proper maintenance and communication with fleet maintenance staff.
  • Describe best practices in mowing techniques for various terrains.

Who Should Attend:

This course is designed for operators and foremen who cut grass on interstate highways and state and local road networks.This class includes an outside equipment demonstration. Please wear comfortable shoes and dress appropriately for weather conditions.
