Complete Streets: Planning Safer Communities - RS Credit

A CT Road Scholar Program Elective Workshop

Course Description:

Integrating Complete Streets policies and concepts helps communities create safe and inviting transportation networks for everyone, including bicyclists, drivers, transit operators and users and pedestrians of all ages and abilities.  This class will focus on how municipalities across Connecticut and the country are balancing the needs of all users and implementing effective policies and procedures to routinely create Complete Streets in their communities.   

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Discuss the current state of practice regarding Complete Streets; 
  • Describe the framework for implementation of Complete Streets into a municipal structure; 
  • List a variety of Complete Streets design tools; 
  • Discuss benefits and implications of integrating Complete Streets into your transportation network

Who Should Attend:

This workshop is designed for those who are interested in Complete Streets and integrating Complete Streets concepts into their community. Directors of Public Works, Town Engineers, Legal Traffic Authorities and Chief Elected Officials are encouraged to attend.
