Drug Recognition Expert Instructor

Mr. Plourde is a retired police officer with 25 years of service and a graduate of the Connecticut Police Academy. He retired in 2024 from the Manchester Police Department, holding the titles of Drug Recognition Expert (DRE) Instructor, ARIDE Instructor, SFST Instructor, Breath Machine Instructor, Accident Reconstruction Photographer, and Mobile Command Post Operator for the CREST Team.

Throughout his career, Mr. Plourde served on several committees, including the DUI Task Force, and has been recognized in court as an expert in the areas of DUI and Drug Recognition. He currently serves as the State Program Manager for the DRE call-out system and is responsible for facilitating all mandated ARIDE trainings across Connecticut.
