A CT Safety Academy Workshop

Course Description:

This course will address how practitioners can get roundabouts installed on Connecticut roadways and the potential barriers faced. We will share both best and noteworthy practices, as well as the latest research in modern roundabout design.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion of the course, participants will be able to:

  • Understand the benefits of roundabouts and be able to communicate them to the public.
  •  Describe educational tools and resources for roundabouts.
  • List roundabout facts for all roadway users.
  • Describe the key considerations when planning an area’s first roundabout. ·Be able to identify potential barriers to roundabout installation and determine solutions.

Who Should Attend:

This class is designed for any local or state transportation professionals involved in making decisions regarding the safety of their road systems.

Engineers, Public Works Directors, Highway Supervisors, Planners, Chief Elected Officials, and Local Traffic Authorities (LTAs) are encouraged to attend. Participants will receive 6 credit hours toward their CT Safety Champion designation.
