Course Description:

Workplace safety is a key priority for all public works departments. This class focuses on how to manage those hazards inherent to public works facilities and how to be prepared for an OSHA Inspection. A facility walk-through exercise will be conducted to demonstrate a typical inspection process. 

Learning Objectives:

At the end of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify the hazards typically found in public works facilities.
  • Discuss the steps involved in the inspection process, review of work facilities and methods for compliance with OSHA.
  • Discuss the scope of the OSHA inspection process and requirements for record keeping.
  • Describe how to request participation in the municipal consultation program.

Who Should Attend:

This course is designed for those responsible for the management of public works facilities. Directors of Public Works, Highway Superintendents, Fleet Managers and Foremen are encouraged to attend.
