Public Works Academy 

The Public Works Academy program is comprised of six (6) weekly sessions. Each week at the Academy, participants will become familiar with different subject matter that is essential to working in Public Works.

Classes will be held from 8:00 am to 3:00 pm. Participants must attend all six modules to receive credit for the Academy. 

The following is an overview of the topics that will be covered each week:

• Professionalism and Communication Skills
• Operational Safety
• Roadway Fundamentals
• Work Zone Safety / ATSSA Flagger Certification
• Chainsaw Safety and Storm Cleanup
• Winter Operations and Safe Snowplowing
