Donna Shea Wins "BRING IT HOME" Award

Congratulations to Donna Shea, Program Director for the CT Technology Transfer Center. Donna is a recipient of the Greater Hartford Convention and Visitor's Bureau 2004 "Bring it Home" Award. Every year the bureau honors state residents who have assisted in bringing their associations, conventions or meetings to the Greater Hartford area.

shea_12-04_copy (20K) Donna was instrumental in scheduling the "10th Annual Eastern Winter Road Maintenance Symposium and Equipment Expo" at the new Connecticut Convention Center in Hartford, to take place September 7 and 8, 2005.

Governor M. Jodi Rell will present the award at Hartford Magazine's 2nd Annual "Best of Hartford" Party on June 11, 2005.

ITE STUDENT CHAPTER WINS Campus Environmental Leadership Award

bike (49K)The Campus Bike Plan Team (ITE - Student Chapter) will be recognized for winning a Campus Environmental Leadership Award (Special Projects category) at a ceremony to be held April 22, 2005. The award will be presented by UConn President, Philip Austin.

The Campus Bike Plan Team is receiving the award for their work on promoting a campus bicycle plan. Their "bicycle needs" survey received over 2,000 replies last fall. Eric Jackson and Jeffrey Lamondia are now working on a campus group bike ride in collaboration with the EcoHusky student group.
