Professor’s Research Helps Important Legislation Pass
Dr. Eric Jackson’s (CEE) report on the design build process was key in the success of Senate Bill 33; legislation allowing Connecticut greater flexibility and increased cost savings in transportation construction projects. McCahill Selected for Prestigious Program
Chris McCahill, a Civil & Environmental Engineering Ph.D. candidate, is one of America’s 19 top graduate students in transportation-related fields invited as a Fellow to attend the 20th Annual Eno Leadership Development Conference in Washington, D.C. Chris will spend an intensive week in June meeting with top Executive Branch and Congressional officials, industry executives and non-profit leaders to learn how the nation’s transportation policies are debated, adopted and applied.
CTLS TURF Program Seeks Applicants
CTLS (Center for Transportation and Livable Systems) is pleased to announce the second year of the Transportation Undergraduate Research Fellowship (TURF) program, a summer research opportunity for Engineering Undergraduate Students interested in transportation. Fellowships include a stipend of $2,000.
TURF Fellows will conduct research supporting the theme “Sustainable and Livable Transportation Systems” under the supervision of a faculty advisor. At the end of the summer, fellows will have the opportunity to present their research results.
